"Russia in the Electronic World" Olympiad to get another organizer

November 26, 2018, at 15:00, the Presidential Library will host a solemn ceremony of signing an additional cooperation agreement with the North-West Institute of Management - a branch of the Russian State Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation in holding “Russia in the Electronic World" Olympiad as well as awarding the winners of the contest "Support for scientific and engineering creativity of high school students", held by the RANEPA.

An agreement on cooperation in the “Russia in the Electronic World” contest between the Presidential Library and the RANEPA will be concluded as part of the implementation of the joint activity plan according to the previously signed cooperation agreement. It involves the joint activities of the university and the Presidential Library on the territory of the North-West Federal District in the implementation of “Russia in the Electronic World” Olympiad. RANEPA becomes an equal organizer of the Olympiad, along with the Presidential Library and the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia and is aimed at distributing information about the Olympiad among schools of the Northwestern Federal District, organize centralized assignments for the first and, if necessary, subsequent stages of the Olympiad on the basis of the institute, as well as provide benefits to winners and prize winners when entering this university.

Prior to December 2, 2018, the first stage of “Russia in the Electronic World” annual interactive Olympiad, which assesses the knowledge of high school students in history, social studies and the Russian language, continues.

This year, the Olympiad is held for the ninth time, having established itself as a significant educational event for schoolchildren, providing individual benefits for admission to universities in our country.

The Olympiad is held from September 2018 to March 2019 and consists of three stages. The first two are held remotely, the third stage according to the established tradition involves the verification of the participants' knowledge in full-time format. The most capable and competent schoolchildren of St. Petersburg meet each other ob Senate Square, 3 and students from other cities of Russia - on the sites of remote electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library. Today, these halls are running in 85 regions of our country. Thanks to this format, it is possible to cover the entire regional network and even neighboring countries.

To participate in the Olympiad, you should go through a simple registration on the website and perform the tasks.

Last year, more than 5,200 schoolchildren from all 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as seven foreign countries took part in the Olympiad: Algeria, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. In total, starting in 2010, about 33,000 students in the 10th and 11th grades took part in the project.

To fulfill the tasks of the Olympiad, schoolchildren turn to materials from the Presidential Library’s collections, which contains more than 650,000 digital copies of printed and archival documents, audio and video recordings, dissertation abstracts and other sources reflecting the centuries-old history of Russian statehood, the theory and practice of law, and Russian language as the state language of Russia.

The knowledgeable jury appraises the knowledge of schoolchildren, which is composed of reputable scientists and university professors of the Northern capital. Winners and prize-awardees receive the right of preferential admission to universities of Russia - partners of the Presidential Library, the list of which is already being replenished on the website of the Olympiad, and also they will be awarded with memorable prizes and gifts from the Presidential Library.
