“Afghan War”: Truth and Myths” Video Lecture at the Presidential Library

On February 21 at 2 p.m. the Presidential Library will host “Afghan War: Truth and Myths” video lecture, which is part of "Knowledge of Russia" series. The event is timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the complete withdrawal of the limited contingent of Soviet troops from the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan.

Representatives of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation will give a welcome speech. The event is a chance to commemorate and pay tribute to soldiers, who served in Afghanistan. Cadets and Suvorov School students, veterans of the Afghan War will gather in the Presidential Library in St. Petersburg, its reserve center in Moscow and also in Omsk, Yekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Kazan, Ryazan and Surgut to take part in the event.

The event will be broadcast on the portal of the institution in “Live Broadcasts” section.

Accreditation for media representatives is available until 12 p.m. February 20, 2019.
