Birds’ wintering in Leningrad Region to be discussed in the Presidential Library’s cinema club meeting

March 5, 2019 at 4 pm the Presidential Library will host the 112th cinema club meeting, which is dedicated to World Wildlife Day. It will feature films about birds wintering in Leningrad Region.

This time, the audience will have a creative meeting with Pavel Glazkov, Candidate of Biological Sciences, the author of the video blog “Two of every kind” where he talks about animals in Leningrad Region. His motto is love for nature through its knowledge. At this time, a popular biologist will comment on the premiere of the documentary “The Whooper Swan in the Wintering of Leningrad Region”.

Another short film by Pavel Glazkov "Crake" is dedicated to the bird, which belongs to distant migrants: winters in Central and South-Eastern Africa, and arrives in our region to continue its genus. Both films were shot in the suburbs of St. Petersburg.

The viewers are also awaited by the most interesting story of Vladimir Mikhailovich Khrabry, a senior researcher at the laboratory of ornithology and herpetology of the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, about wintering birds of Leningrad Region.

The cinema club meeting will be over with a premiere of a unique film about the Nevsky lamprey - this is still full of mysteries of the ancient animal of our planet. The film was shot on the Neva, in the historical center of St. Petersburg.

The co-organizers of the cinema club of the Presidential Library are the Lennauchfilm film studio, the St. Petersburg Documentary Film Studio, the Russian Institute of Art History and the Youth Center of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation.

The cinema club meeting will be held in the multimedia hall of the Presidential Library at the address: Senate Square, 3.
