Fyodor Dostoevsky’s The Possessed considered at the Presidential Library’s video lecture
On May 20, 2019 the fourth lecture of the series devoted to the life and work of Fyodor Dostoevsky entitled “The cultural-historical and prophetic significance of the novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky “The Possessed”” will take place in the Presidential Library within the Knowledge of Russia video lecture. The event will begin at 11:00 and will be available live on the Presidential Library’s portal and in the official group of the institution in VKontakte social network.
Chie Researcher of the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Philology, Professor Konstantin Barsht will tell interesting facts about one of the most significant works of the Russian classic. In particular, the participants of the video lecture will hear the story of the creation of the novel warning of the upcoming social revolution, find out who became the prototype of the main characters of "The Possessed", see the pages of manuscripts with the writer's drawings made by him in the process of working on the novel.
