Welcome to the Naval Knowledge Day to the Presidential Library

On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, the Presidential Library will host the Naval Knowledge Day. The event is held as part of the annual Knowledge Forum and will be broadcasted live in the Live broadcasts section of the Presidential Library’s portal. The beginning is at 10:00 Moscow time.

A representative of the High Command of the Russian Navy will address those present. In the course of the meeting will be delivered speeches dedicated to Russian naval commanders, marine writers and some battles involving the Russian fleet, including those dedicated to the anniversary dates: the 170th anniversary of Admiral S. O. Makarov, the 90th anniversary of the sea captain and marine painter V. V. Konetsky, the 300th anniversary of the Battle of Osel Island - Russia's first naval victory in the Northern War of 1700-1721. 

In addition, the executive secretary of the Maritime Council under the Government of St. Petersburg, the adviser to the governor Tatyana Chekalova will tell about the fate of Admiral F. F. Ushakov, who was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church. It will be also given an Information on the role of Sevastopol in the military history of Russia and on the contribution of all Russian military sailors to science, culture and art. Director General of the Nevsky Design Bureau Sergey Orlov will present the book “Ships are born here: the history of the Nevsky Design Bureau”.

The Naval Knowledge Day will bring together about 400 participants on one site. They are representatives of the Leningrad Naval Base, the Central Naval Library, the Central Naval Museum, the Russian State Archive of the Navy, the Maritime Council under the Government of St. Petersburg, the Information and Methodological Center of the Primorsky District, the Admiralty Coordinating Council of Public Veterans organizations of the Navy, Admiral Club of St. Petersburg as well as cadets and the leadership of educational institutions: the military training and scientific center of the Kuznetsov Naval Academy, Makarov State University of the Sea and River Fleet, the Admiral D. N. Senyavin St. Petersburg Maritime Technical College. Cultural and educational institutions from Vladivostok, Kaliningrad and several other subjects of the Russian Federation will join the event via video-conferencing mode.

Accreditation for media representatives is until 2:00 p.m. September 2, 2019.

The letter should contain the name, date and place of birth, passport data (series, number, place of registration), a list of carry-on equipment, contact numbers, the name of the media.

The admittance to the Presidential Library is possible only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: participants and guests of the event go through entrance № 1, media representatives go through entrance № 2.
