Welcome to the Presidential Library’s Poetry Club meeting dedicated to Anna Akhmatova
The literary and musical meeting “Dedication to Anna” will be held as part of the Poetry Club meeting on October 5, 2019 at 3 p.m. in the Presidential Library’s Conference Hall at Senate Square, 3. The meeting will be timed to coincide with the 130th anniversary of the birth of the poetess Anna Akhmatova (1889-1966). The event will be broadcast live on the Presidential Library’s YouTube channel.
Poets from St. Petersburg and other cities of Russia will perform poems in front of the audience. Museum specialists Tatyana Pozdnyakova (Anna Akhmatova Museum at the Fountain House) and Yelena Doroshenko (Anna Akhmatova. The Silver Age Museum) will speak about museum activities. Irina Tretyakova, Head of the Department of Literature of the Akhmatova Arts Gymnasium in Tsarskoye Selo will make the report "The Muse of Tsarskoye Selo”.
The Presidential Library’s visitors will listen to an excerpt from the mono-opera Right by the Sea based on Anna Akhmatova’s poem of the same name (soloist Yelena Nalivayeva, composer Dmitry Mikhailov). The solo mini-exhibition "Anna Akhmatova" of Natalia Skripkina - the sculptor, teacher, member of the Union of Artists of Russia, will be inaugurated as part of the meeting.
Ahead of the Poetry Club meeting at 2.15 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. everyone will have an opportunity to join tours around the historic Synod building, which today houses the Presidential Library.
Please note that the admission to the Presidential Library’s event is possible only by prior registration and upon showing a passport.

The admission to the Presidential Library is possible only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: participants and guests of the event go through entrance No 1, media representatives go through entrance No 2.
