Open video lesson for schoolchildren of the Russian diaspora “Constitution for Russia”

On April 20, 2020 at 20:30 Moscow time, an open video lesson for schoolchildren of the Russian diaspora “Constitution for Russia” will be held as part of the video lecture of the Presidential Library “Knowledge of Russia”, which will be held by the history and law teacher of gymnasium № 116 from St. Petersburg, the absolute winner All-Russian contest “Teacher of the Year of Russia” (2017), member of the Central Headquarters of the All-Russian Popular Front, member of the editorial board of the publishing house “Teacher's Newspaper” Ilya Sergeyevich Demakov. The lesson will be held for Russian-speaking teenagers living in different countries of the world: Austria, Hungary, Germany, Jordan, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Morocco, the Netherlands, Palestine, Portugal, France, the USA, as part of the international online project “Our Dear Rus’”, organized by the Russian School № 1 in Marbella (Spain) and the Dar Association (Morocco).

An open lesson is dedicated to the history of the formation of the country's main law. The Constitution spotlights the development of society and fixes principles, ideas and rules that are significant for the people which will be discussed in the course of the Presidential Library’s video lecture. The audience will also be able to learn about the main stages of the constitutional process in our country and learn about prominent Russian figures playing a large role in the history of the formation of the national constitution.  

Special attention at the beginning of the lesson will be given to the documents and materials of the collection Constitution - the Basic Law, presented on the Presidential Library’s portal. The collection includes texts of the constitutions of the Russian state of various historical eras - the first constitution of the RSFSR of 1918, three constitutions of the USSR (1924, 1936 and 1977), constitutions of the RSFSR of 1925, 1937 and 1978, the current Constitution of the Russian Federation of 1993, as well as original texts and the publication of existing constitutions of individual constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

Moreover, the Presidential Library regularly holds interactive lessons of the Constitution, detailed information on which is available in the Multimedia Lessons section on the institution's portal www.prlib.ru. The section “Video lecture for school” also provides records of open lessons held at the Presidential Library on the Constitution of Russia.

“Constitution for Russia” open lesson is held online and will be available in live mode on the Presidential Library’s YouTube channel.
