Online lesson for schoolchildren of the Russian abroad “Russian Versailles of Peter I”

On June 29, 2020 at 20:30 Moscow time, the Presidential Library as part of the project “Video lecture for School” will host an online lesson “Russian Versailles of Peter I”. The lesson will focus on one of the world capitals of fountains, the first ceremonial summer residence of Peter I and subsequent emperors - Peterhof. The lesson will be provided by Irina Gribova, a veteran of pedagogical work, an honorary worker of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, an active participant in the project of the Presidential Library "Video Lecture "Knowledge of Russia"".

The lesson will be held for Russian-speaking teenagers living in different countries of the world: Austria, Hungary, Germany, Jordan, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, Morocco, the Netherlands, Palestine, Portugal, France, the USA, as part of the international online project “Our Dear Russia”, organized by the Russian School No. 1 in Marbella (Spain) and the Dar Association (Morocco).

The lesson “Russian Versailles of Peter I” will be broadcasted live on the Presidential Library’s YouTube channel and will be publicly available.

Irina Gribova has a pedagogical education in the history and culture of St. Petersburg and a music education in piano. Her pedigree includes a famous master in the manufacture of musical instruments, nicknamed the "Russian Stradivarius", Ivan Batov, who was a serf of the famous Count Nikolai Sheremetev. Today, Irina Gribova conducts copyright tours of St. Petersburg and its suburbs. In the lesson “Russian Versailles of Peter I”, she will tell the children not only about the Lower Park of Peterhof and its famous fountains, but also about the Monplaisir Palace, which is a one-story house on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Monplaisir was the favorite resting place of Emperor Peter the Great.
