Online readings of the Presidential Library’s Poetry Club to be devoted to Russian writers - Nobel laureates

Online readings of the Presidential Library’s Poetry Club “Russian poets - Nobel Prize Winners. Ivan Bunin. Boris Pasternak. Joseph Brodsky" will be held on December 11, 2020 at 15:00. The event, which will take place the day after the annual awards ceremony for one of the most prestigious international awards, will be held with the participation of the Union of Russian Societies in Sweden.

The event is free. The poetry readings will be broadcasted live on the Presidential Library's YouTube channel.

The first Nobel Prize was awarded in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, in 1901. Over the entire period of its existence, Ivan Bunin, Boris Pasternak, Mikhail Sholokhov, Alexander Solzhenitsyn and Joseph Brodsky have been awarded high awards among Russian writers.

A meeting with a member of the board of the "Privet" society in the Swedish city of Norrköping Olga Shulgina will be held as part of the online readings of the Presidential Library. She will talk about the role Russian poetry plays in the cultural life of Russian compatriots in Sweden, share information on educational activities of the society aimed at preserving the Russian language, literature and history, and talk about working with children.

Authors of the Presidential Library’s Poetry Club, poets, musicians, literary scholars and members of the "Privet" society in Norrköping will take part in the online readings. Poems by Nobel laureates from Russia and contemporary poetry will be performed; thematic messages will be devoted to the life and oeuvre of Russian classics.
