Space and poetry. The Presidential Library provides broadcasting of films and video lectures
The Presidential Library’s portal from Monday to Friday in Live broadcasts section provides broadcasting of films, video lectures and tours prepared by the Presidential Library, as well as by leading film studios of the country.
In accordance with the program of online broadcasts, on the eve and on March 18, on the 56th anniversary of the first manned spacewalk, the Presidential Library’s portal provides broadcasting of films about the exploration of extraterrestrial space.
Thus, the chronicle-documentary film "Ascent", based on materials from the collections of the St. Petersburg Documentary Film Studio, the Russian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation, the Russian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents and the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is devoted to the moral issues of mankind's exploration of space.
In turn, the documentary "Space Pilots" reveals some pages of the history of astronautics, tells about its unknown heroes - academician Vladimir Ponomarenko, pop artist John Gridunov, researcher Alek Mnatsakanyan. The film uses unique video footage filmed during secret tests with the participation of a person.
World Poetry Day, which is annually celebrated on March 21, is dedicated to screening of a video film shot by the Presidential Library’s specialists "...My address is on the Moika, near the Konyushenny Bridge...". The film tells about the life of Alexander Pushkin in the house on the Moika, 12: about his daily affairs, family, friends, about relations with Vasily Zhukovsky and about the last days of the poet.
Without leaving home it is now possible to visit the exhibition The history of constitutionalism in Russia: drafts and constitutions of the 18th-20th centuries, which was available in the Presidential Library. The video tour of the exposition tells about the development of constitutional ideas and legislation in Russia at the end of the 20th century: changes in the political system in the USSR; adoption of the Declaration on State Sovereignty of the RSFSR; elections of the first President of the RSFSR; the collapse of the USSR; projects, preparation of the Constitution of the Russian Federation of 1993 and its adoption.
Also in the week from March 15-19, within the framework of the educational project of the Presidential Library Video lecture Knowledge of Russia, visitors to the portal will be able to learn about the lecture “Was the NEP in the Russian provinces? Difficult way out of the civil war in the Urals in the early 1920s”.
