Сoncert dedicated to Victory Day celebration to be held at the Presidential Library
May 5, 2021, at 15:00, the Presidential Library will host a solemn event for veterans of the Great Patriotic War, timed to coincide with the Victory Day celebration.
Representatives of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg and the Administration of the Admiralteisky District will congratulate the audience on the upcoming holiday.
The event will include a concert of the Boris Troyanovsky Great Russian Orchestra of the Cultural Center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region. The artistic director and conductor of the orchestra is Anna Drozdovich.
The Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments was officially formed in 1923–1924 on the initiative of the Komsomol members of the Krasny Putilovets plant and its predecessor was the amateur Great Russian Orchestra conducted by Nikolai Privalov. Today it consists of about 30 people. These are people of different professions and ages: workers and engineers, teachers of music and general education schools, students and retirees.
In 2011 the ensemble was awarded the title of laureate of the city contest of folk instrument orchestras.
The Great Russian Orchestra will perform songs from the times of the Great Patriotic War, Russian folk songs, famous arias of world famous composers which will take place at the Presidential Library.
The event will be broadcast live on the Presidential Library's portal in Live broadcasts section, as well as on the institution's YouTube channel.
