Films and video lectures available online on the Presidential Library’s portal

The Presidential Library’s portal from Monday to Friday in Live broadcasts section provides broadcasting of films, video lectures and tours prepared by the Presidential Library, as well as by leading film studios of the country.

In accordance with the program of online broadcasts, users will be offered a video lecture "About war and victory through the language of a book". The lecture is based on the works of the blockade poetess Olga Bergholz and the authors of the "Blockade Book" Daniil Granin and Ales Adamovich. The broadcast is timed to coincide with the 111th birthday anniversary of Olga Bergholz.

On the International Day of Museums, which is celebrated on May 18, without leaving home, it is now possible to visit Novgorod Region and the Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov Museum-Estate in the village of Konchanskoye, the only possession of the great commander that has survived today. The documentary, which will be shown on the Presidential Library's portal, will tell about the life of the Generalissimo and the history of the memorial house-museum, opened in the war in 1942.

Another film offered to the attention of visitors to the Presidential Library's portal is "The Emperor Who Knew His Fate". The film reel of the St. Petersburg Documentary Film Studio is dedicated to the last sovereign of the Russian Empire, Nicholas II. The authors of the film, based on documentary materials, talk about the predictions predicted to the emperor at different periods of his life and attempts to prevent them.

The informational and methodological webinar of the Presidential Library, dedicated to the Slavic Written Language Day, will present the traditions of this holiday in the countries of the Slavic world, topical controversial issues related to the emergence of the Cyrillic and Glagolitic alphabet. Users will also learn about materials telling about the history of Slavic writing, which are stored in the Presidential Library’s collections - biographical sketches, lives, studies of texts translated by the first teachers, and the works of their followers, scientific works.

In the week from May 17 to May 21, within the framework of the educational project of the Presidential Library Video lecture Knowledge of Russia, historical video lectures "State awards of Russia" and "The Battle of Gangut of 1714: the main results of the study and research tasks at the present stage" as well as video lecture on sports "What is football freestyle?: meeting with the European champion in football freestyle Arseny Klementyev" will be presented.
