Marking the 200th anniversary of Fyodor Dostoevsky: The Presidential Library to present a play about the writer
On October 6, 2021, at 11:00 Moscow time, the Presidential Library will hold a cultural and educational event entitled From this moment on I will be silent about this forever. Fyodor Dostoevsky in Revel. It marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous writer, which will be celebrated on November 11, 2021.
The video lecture is intended for students and teachers of educational institutions of the Primorsky district of St. Petersburg. The event is free. The meeting will be broadcast live on the Presidential Library's portal in the Live broadcast section in accordance with the program of live events and on the institution's YouTube channel.
The writer and researcher of Fyodor Dostoevsky's oeuvre Andrey Galitsky will give a lecture Young and Little-known Dostoevsky. Then he will present his play From this moment on I will be silent about this forever. Fyodor Dostoevsky in Revel, which tells about the little-studied period of life of the Russian writer. The presentation of the play will be held in the format of an actor's reading, which will involve theatre and cinema actress Elena Sekste and composer Anton Gladkikh.
It is possible to learn more about Fyodor Dostoevsky from the Presidential Library's materials in the special digital collection Fyodor Dostoevsky (1821-1881) [The World of Dostoevsky]. It features copies of the writer's works and materials about his life and career.
The Presidential Library also holds a series of lectures Fyodor Dostoevsky – the Conversation about the Value by Dmitry Bogach, PhD in Philology, teacher of Russian language and literature at the St. Petersburg Radio Engineering College. He discusses the features of Fyodor Dostoevsky's works during his meetings. Entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.
In order to reduce the risks of the spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the use of personal protective equipment during the event is mandatory for all attendees.
