The art exhibition at the Presidential Library to show the beauty of the Crimean coast

29 October – 22 November 2021

From October 29, 2021 until November 22, 2021 the Presidential Library hosts an art exhibition of works by students and a teacher of the St. Petersburg College of Architecture and Building "Following the Roads of Crimea".

The exhibition features 20 watercolours and graphic works representing various parts of the peninsula.

In May this year, a group of students from the St. Petersburg College of Architecture and Building took part in the twelfth International Seascape Art Campus in Crimea. The event was organized by the International Union of Teachers-Artists, the Committee of Culture and the Cultural Heritage Protection of the Republic of Crimea, Moscow International University and the Ivan Aivazovsky Children's Art School (Feodosia).

About 200 young artists from all over Russia got together on the coast of the Black Sea near Feodosia. The guys spent ten days of plein-air work and workshops under the guidance of marine painters from Feodosia in the most beautiful resorts of southeastern Crimea. They took part in professional art contests, such as the International Full-time Plein-air Contest Mysteries of an Ancient Fortress and the International Seascape Full-time Plein-air Contest. Students improved their creative skills, mastered new techniques in painting and graphics, learned about new art materials, and techniques of seascape painting.

The Presidential Library actively cooperates with the Republic of Crimea. The Crimean peninsula houses successfully functioning 18 Centres of Remote Access to the Presidential Library's Resources.

The institution's portal features an electronic collection Republic of Crimea: Pages of History, containing studies, essays, archival documents, photographs and other materials covering the administrative, socio-economic, socio-political and cultural development of the peninsula from ancient times to the beginning of the XX century. It also provides a collection Crimea in Postcards. It includes 850 postcards from the late XIX - the first half of the XX century.
