II International Scientific and Practical Conference on Counteracting New Coronavirus Infection to be held at the Presidential Library

December 9-10, 2021 Presidential Library’s conference hall (St. Petersburg, Senate Square, 3) will host the II International Scientific and Practical Conference on counteracting new coronavirus infection and other infectious diseases.

The conference is organized by the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, St. Petersburg Pasteur Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Microbe Russian Research Anti-Plague Institute of Rospotrebnadzor.

The event will be attended by leading Russian and foreign scientists, representatives of the CIS countries, the SCO, the European Union, international organizations, including the World Health Organization. Participation in the conference is possible in face-to-face format and in the format of video conference calls.

The conference will highlight the following scientific issues:

• • Epidemiology of new coronavirus infection. Forecasts and models. Anti-epidemic measures. Reacting. Treatment.
• • Experience of international cooperation in the fight against COVID-19.
• • Molecular genetic characteristics of SARS-CoV-2: features, variability, distribution.
• • New threat - impetus to the development of diagnostic technologies. New approaches to diagnostics, development of test systems. National laboratory testing strategies.
• • Features of the formation of the immune response in COVID-19.
• • Results of serological monitoring.
• • Specific prophylaxis. Vaccine development and testing, including in the context of viral evolution.
• • On the implementation of orders of the Government of the Russian Federation (programs of assistance to foreign partners) in the field of international development assistance on the fight against infections, including cross-border cooperation.

The event will be broadcast live on the conference website, on the Presidential Library’s portal in Live broadcasts section and on the institution's YouTube channel.

For full-time participation it is necessary to have an access code, which is indicated in official invitations, as well as a valid QR code on vaccination, a QR code of a patient who has recovered or a certificate of medical disqualification (must be attached at registration).

Media representatives may attend the event in the building of the Presidential Library if they have accreditation, which was carried out on the conference website.

Before the start of the conference on December 8, 2021, the St. Petersburg Pasteur Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Rospotrebnadzor will offer mandatory PCR testing for participants and media representatives. PCR testing will be carried out in the Yesenin hall of the Angleterre hotel (24, Malaya Morskaya st., 1st floor). Testing time: for media representatives - from 12:00 to 16:00; for participants - from 12:00 to 24:00.
