The Presidential Library’s video lecture to spotlight the relevance of the constitutional right to private property

January 31, 2022 at 11:00 Moscow time the Presidential Library will host a video lecture entitled “The Constitutional Right to Private Property” as part of the Knowledge of Russia project. The event will continue the cycle of lectures "Man, his rights and freedoms - the highest constitutional value".

The video lecture is free. It will be broadcast live on the Presidential Library's portal in Live broadcasts section in accordance with the program of live events, on the institution's YouTube channel and VKontakte social network.

Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Department of State Law of the Pushkin Leningrad State University, Vadim Mamonov will give a constitutional and legal analysis of private property and offer a definition of property. He will consider the history of the legal regulation of private property in Russia and highlight the powers of a private owner, name the guarantees of private property, including when a person is forcibly deprived of his property.

In addition, the video lecture participants will learn about the issues of private ownership of land and other natural resources as well as the right of inheritance.

The history of the fundamental law of our country is revealed by the materials of the Presidential Library, presented in the special digital collection Constitution - Basic Law. Everyone has opportunity to study the texts of the constitutions of the Russian state of various historical eras. In addition, the collection contains digital copies of official documents, as well as studies, journalism, memoirs, and video materials illustrating the details of the creation of the Basic Law.

The Presidential Library also invites users to learn about the Constitution of our country with the amendments approved during the all-Russian vote on July 1, 2020. The text of the document is available in the collections of the institution and published on its official portal.

Interactive lessons and video lectures are regularly held at the Presidential Library. They are available on the institution's portal in the Multimedia lessons section and in the Video lecture to school section, where records of past lectures and open lessons are presented.

Accreditation of media representatives is until 13:00 January 28, 2022.

Entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.

In order to reduce the risks of the spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) the use of personal protective equipment during the event is mandatory for all attendees.
