Films and video lectures available online on the Presidential Library’s portal
The Presidential Library’s portal from Monday to Friday in Live broadcasts section provides broadcasting of films, video lectures and tours prepared by the Presidential Library, as well as by leading film studios of the country.
In accordance with the program of live broadcasts, the users will be offered a video lecture "About the war and the victory in the language of a book". The lecture is based on the works of the poetess Olga Bergholz and the authors of the Blockade Book, Daniil Granin and Ales Adamovich. The broadcast is dedicated to the 112th anniversary of the birth of Olga Bergholz.
Marking the International Museum Day, which is celebrated on May 18, it will be possible, without leaving home, to visit Novgorod Region and visit Alexander Suvorov Museum-Estate in the village of Konchanskoye - the only possession of the great commander that has survived today. The documentary, which will be shown on the Presidential Library’s portal, will tell about the life of the Generalissimo and the history of the memorial house-museum, opened in the military year of 1942.
Another film offered to visitors on the Presidential Library’s portal is “The Emperor who knew his fate”. The film of the St. Petersburg Documentary Film Studio is dedicated to the last sovereign of the Russian Empire, Nicholas II. May 18 marks the 154th anniversary of his birth. The authors of the film, based on documentary materials, tell about the predictions foretold to the emperor at different periods of his life and attempts to prevent them.
In 1929 the "Library Campaign" was announced in Soviet Russia - a cultural and educational campaign, the main tasks of which were to increase the number of library readers, attract the attention of the population and public organizations to participate in library construction. The main slogans were: "Not a single literate person outside the library!" and "The book - to the masses!". Various materials showing the work of the country's libraries during this period will be presented during the broadcast of a video recording of an information and methodological webinar dedicated to the "Library Campaign".
During the week from May 16-20 within the framework of the educational project of the Presidential Library’s video lecture Knowledge of Russia will be shown historical video lectures "State awards of Russia", "The Battle of Gangut of 1714: the main results of the study and research tasks at the present stage", "Battle on the Ice: View from East and West”.
