The Presidential Library to award the creators of the best films of the Open Screening “Ekranizatsia”

On May 26, 2022 at 15.00 the Presidential Library will sum up the results of the St. Petersburg Open Screening of creative works. The co-organizers of the event are the Writers' Union of St. Petersburg and the Russian Book Union.

The program includes the awarding of the best film works and the screening of the film "Exalt the Russian word" by the famous documentary filmmaker Konstantin Artyukhov, dedicated to the history of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Screenwriter, Director of the Pushkin All-Russian Museum Sergey Nekrasov and director Konstantin Artyukhov will tell about their role in the film.

The film features a lot of documentary evidence from the era of the creation of the Academy, including pages from a unique edition of the Bible from the time of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna, fragments from the notes of the first president of the Imperial Academy of Sciences and Arts, Princess Ekaterina Dashkova, performed by People's Artist of Russia Svetlana Kryuchkova. There are also reflections on the history and significance of the Russian Academy of Sciences by Helene Carrère d'Encausse, permanent secretary of the French Academy and Lyudmila Verbitskaya, head of St. Petersburg State University.

At the event the creators of the best films presented at the St. Petersburg Open Film Screening of creative works “Ekranizatsia” in 2021 will also be awarded. These are the films “Daniil Granin. The Last Interview (directed by Dmitry Karalis); "Olga Bergholz" from the cycle "Breathing one breath..." (directed by Dmitry Chernetsov), "Architecture of the Siege" (scriptwriter and director Maxim Yakobson), project of the Petersburg Heritage and Perspective Foundation.

Honorary diplomas will be awarded to the writer and screenwriter Andrey Kivinov - "For the contribution to the development of Russian cinema"; writer Viktor Kokosov - "For the creation of the Internet channel "Calendar of the writer Viktor Kokosov"; writer Mikhail Grushevsky and director Vadim Kuzenkov - "For the creation of the literary Internet channel "Reading Grushevsky".

Studio "M-Art" (headed by Olga Kostyuchenko) and Animation Studio "Multproekt" of the Primorsky Cultural Center of St. Petersburg (headed by Marina Martynova) will be awarded for creating the best animated films.

The event will be broadcast live on the Presidential Library’s portal in Live broadcasts section, in the Presidential Library’s cinema club group on the VKontakte social network, as well as on the institution’s Rutube- and Telegram-channels.

We draw the attention of the media representatives that it is necessary to forward applications for accreditation and arrive at the event in advance.

Entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.

In order to reduce the risks of the spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the use of personal protective equipment during the event is mandatory for all attendees.
