The artistic image of Peter I and architectural masterpieces of the time of Peter the Great exhibited at the Presidential Library

21 June – 4 July 2022

From June 21 to July 4, 2022, the Presidential Library hosts an art exhibition, dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the birth of Peter the Great.

The exposition features the works of second-year students of the architectural department of the St. Petersburg College of Architecture and Civil Engineering, made in the styles of "Painting" and "Graphics" with elements of architectural modeling of famous buildings of the time of Peter the Great.

Among the exhibits are copies of the project "Nevsky Gates of the Peter and Paul Fortress", the famous mosaic of Mikhail Lomonosov "Peter I" and mosaics at the metro station "Admiralteyskaya", fragments of architectural monuments of Peter the Great's time "Peter and Paul Cathedral", "Botny House", etc. Of particular interest is a copy mosaic panel with the image of Peter I, which is placed on the facade of the St. Sampson Church in Poltava.

Exhibition has become the second exposition held within the framework of the signed cooperation agreement between the Presidential Library and the St. Petersburg College of Architecture and Civil Engineering. In 2021, guests of the historical building of the Synod had an opportunity to learn about the exhibition of watercolors "Roads of Crimea". After exhibiting, digitized artworks entered the electronic collection St. Petersburg College of Architecture and Civil Engineering, created for the 110th anniversary of the educational institution and placed in free access on the Presidential Library’s portal.
