The Presidential Library provides the Naval Knowledge Day

On September 2, 2022 at 10:00 the Presidential Library will host the Naval Knowledge Day. The history and achievements of the Navy of our country will be spotlighted at the conference which is held annually at the beginning of the academic year.

The event will bring together military personnel and specialists in the field of studying, preserving and promoting the historical and cultural heritage of the Russian Navy. The geography of participants is extensive - from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok.

The conference will focus on the creation of the Russian fleet and its role in the history of the country. The agenda also includes the history of the development of the Arctic Ocean and the discovery of the coast of Alaska. In addition, participants will learn about shipbuilding under Peter the Great and the declassified chronicles of military operations of the USSR Navy during the Great Patriotic War. Special attention will be paid to maritime youth projects and new multimedia technologies in museum, exhibition and educational activities.

The event is traditionally held with the support of the Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Nikolai Gerasimovich Kuznetsov Naval Academy.

Among the conference participants are representatives of the Makarov State University of the Sea and River Fleet, the Senyavin Marine Technical College, Information Historical and Scientific Center - Military Historical Library of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Central Naval Library of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, Central Naval Museum named after Emperor Peter the Great of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, Russian State Archive of the Naval Fleet, the Naval Council under the Government of St. Petersburg, the Marinesko Museum of the History of Russian Submarine Forces.

Cadets of educational institutions of Kaliningrad, Sevastopol, Murmansk, Vladivostok, subordinated to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, will also join the event via video-conferencing mode.

The Naval Knowledge Day will be broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal in Live broadcasts section in accordance with the program of live events, as well as on the Rutube platform and on the institution's Telegram- channel. The beginning is at 10:00 Moscow time.

The letter should contain the full name, date and place of birth, passport data (series, number, place of registration), a list of carry-on equipment, contact phone numbers, the name of the media.

We draw the attention of the media representatives that it is necessary to forward applications for accreditation and arrive at the event in advance.

Access to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.

In order to reduce the risks of the spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the use of personal protective equipment during the event is mandatory for all attendees.
