The Presidential Library provides the exhibition by Viktor Matorin
On November 10, 2022 the Presidential Library hosts the grand opening of the exhibition “Viktor Matorin. Images of Russian History in Painting. XXI century".
Viktor Matorin, a prominent representative of modern realistic art in Russia, devoted his work to understanding the historical past: in his paintings, visitors will see important military and political events in Russia and their heroes, learn how history can be studied with the help of artistic images.
The first exhibition hall in the Presidential Library presents digital images of the most significant historical paintings of the artist: “Faithful Saint Prince of Moscow Dmitry Donskoy”, “Khan Mamai”, “Strike of the Ambush Regiment”, “Battle on the Ice”, “Pugachev's Execution. (Forgive me, Orthodox people!)” and others. The second presents genuine works of the painter dedicated to historical monuments in Izmailovo, the royal residence of the 17th century.
