The photo exhibition "The Hero's Wife" opened at the Presidential Library

2–26 December 2022

The photo exhibition The Hero's Wife is open at the Presidential Library from December 2-26, 2022.

The exposition showcases 50 portraits of women whose spouses devoted their lives to serving the Motherland. These are 50 photo stories about beauty, faith, resilience and selflessness. As part of the project, the wives of Russian servicemen were photographed in their spouses' military jackets. The jacket carries a sacred thought - it is a burden and responsibility that falls not only on men, but also on women's shoulders. Each photo is accompanied by letters from participants to their spouses. The exposition is especially relevant during the period of a special military operation.

The idea of the project, which originated in Samara, was supported by the wives and mothers of military men from Kaliningrad, Togliatti, Perm, Ryazan, Chelyabinsk and other Russian cities. The patriotic project was highly appreciated by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The event has been organized by the Presidential Library, the Foundation for Social Initiatives Peaceful People (Mirnye Liudi) and the public organization Inhabitants of besieged Leningrad with the support of the Public Chamber of St. Petersburg.
