The Presidential Library to tell about the role of the Russian language in the formation of the Russian cultural space in the CIS countries

On April 6, 2023 at 10:30 the Presidential Library will host a video lecture “The Role of the Russian Language in the Formation of the Russian Cultural Space in the CIS Countries”. 2023 has been declared the Year of the Russian language as the language of interethnic communication in the CIS space. In this regard, the Presidential Library hosts a series of lectures that reveal topical issues of Russian studies and the problems of the development of the Russian language in the world.

What is the significance of the Russian language for the CIS countries and the world? What functions does it perform? For what purposes and in what areas is it used? Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of General and Russian Linguistics of the Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language Levon Nikolaevich Sahakyan will focus on this theme. The lecture will also consider how the Russian language affects relations with the CIS countries, what prospects for cooperation with these countries in the field of development and the study of the Russian language are possible in modern conditions.

The video lecture is free. The meeting will be broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal in the Live broadcasts section in accordance with the program of live events, on the Rutube-channel of the institution, as well as on the page on the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.

The letter should contain the full name, date and place of birth, passport data (series, number, place of registration), a list of carry-on equipment, contact phone numbers, the name of the media.

Entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.
