Cadet Day at the Presidential Library to mark memorable dates of the Great Patriotic War

April 7, 2023 at 11:00 the Presidential Library will host the Cadet Day. The event is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the breaking of the siege of Leningrad and the victorious completion of the Battles of Stalingrad and Kursk, the feat of Soviet soldiers, whose courage and heroism in fierce battles with the Nazis helped to achieve a radical turning point in the Great Patriotic War and liberate the Motherland from the Nazi invaders.

This year, the Cadet Day at the Presidential Library is held in the format of a quiz, which will be attended by cadets and pupils of military schools and cadet corps, students of cadet classes of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of the Russian Federation of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief.

The first, regional, stage of the quiz was held from March 27-31 on the website of the Olympiad of the Presidential Library. More than five hundred students from 23 regions of our country took part in it. Cadets of the Volgograd Cadet Corps of the F. F. Slipchenko Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the Sevastopol Presidential Cadet School, MAOU Secondary School № 4 along with D. S. Nagumanov cadet classes (Sterlitamak), the Yekaterinburg Suvorov Military School of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, Kemerovo PKU, the Moscow Suvorov Military School, the Valery Khalilov Moscow Suvorov Military Music College attended the event.

The winner of the online quiz was Gleb Teryan from the Moscow Suvorov Military School who scored the maximum number of points - 53 out of 65. The correct answers are published on the quiz website.  

The awarding ceremony for the winner of the regional stage of the quiz will be held via video conferencing as part of the Cadet Day on April 7 at 11:00.

Also, as part of the event, students from St. Petersburg will be able to test their knowledge. This stage of the quiz involves team competition. Their teams will be represented by the St. Petersburg Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the First Border Cadet Military Corps of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, the St. Petersburg Cadet Corps "Boarding School of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation", the Cadet Fire and Rescue Corps of the St. Petersburg State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia.

The quiz participants who scored the most points based on the results of the blitz test, as well as a result of the competition between teams and captains, will have to fight in the final and try to correctly answer the most difficult question on the topic of the quiz. All questions are based on sources from the Presidential Library’s collections, included in the list for preparing for the quiz, published on the institution's website.

At the end of the Cadet Day, the Presidential Library will host the awarding of the participants of the winning team of the internal stage of the quiz.

The event will be broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal in the Live broadcasts section in accordance with the program of live events, on the Rutube-channel of the institution, as well as on the page on the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.

Accreditation of media representatives is until 12:00 April 6, 2023.

We draw the attention of the media representatives that it is necessary to forward applications for accreditation and arrive at the event in advance.

Entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.

In order to reduce the risks of the spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the use of personal protective equipment during the event is mandatory for all attendees.
