Protection of human rights in the field of social services to be the main topic of the All-Russian Coordinating Council of Commissioners for Human Rights

25 May 2023

On May 23–25 St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region will host the All-Russian Coordinating Council of Commissioners for Human Rights organized by the Commissioner for Human Rights in Leningrad Region Sergey Shabanov with the assistance of the Government of Leningrad Region dedicated to the protection of human rights in the field of social services.

The events in the Donbass placed on the state a huge responsibility for the life and health of people. Millions of citizens who lost their homes, loved ones and familiar life, were forced to leave their homes. Our servicemen are fighting hard on the front lines, and their families are in need of support more than ever. The military must be sure that while they are there, there is someone here to take care of their families.

The Russian Ombudsmen will develop a coordinated strategy and tactics in the human rights sphere, exchange work practices, prepare recommendations for federal legislative and executive authorities, heads of constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and authorized representatives of the President of the Russian Federation in federal districts on improving legislation.

The meeting of the All-Russian Coordinating Council of Commissioners for Human Rights will be held on May 25, 2023 at 10:00 at the Presidential Library at Senate Square, 3.

The All-Russian Coordinating Council, which includes all human rights commissioners in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, is held annually in a constructive dialogue mode in order to maintain a high level of functioning of state human rights protection.
