
The Presidential Library to tell about the cities and countries where Leningraders found shelter during the attack on their city
On February 13, 2024 at 12:00 the Presidential Library, as part of the video lecture Knowledge of Russia, will host the VIII Charity Memorial Event “Grateful Leningrad”.
The initiators of the Charity Action in Memory of “Grateful Leningrad” are the Social Initiatives Foundation “Peaceful People” and the Public Organization “Residents of Siege Leningrad” with the support of the Government of St. Petersburg and the Public Chamber of St. Petersburg, as well as public organizations, youth communities and veterans associations.
The “Grateful Leningrad” campaign has become a good tradition: during the celebration of the next anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege, veterans, siege survivors and members of their families, students and schoolchildren, representatives of enterprises and institutions meet each other in order to say words of gratitude to those cities and countries where Leningraders were evacuated during the Great Patriotic War.
The event will be held in a literary and musical format. It will include the story about the events of those tragic years as well as photographs and video materials. In addition, St. Petersburg artists will perform.
One can touch history thanks to materials from the electronic collections of the Presidential Library “Defence and Siege of Leningrad”, which will be discussed in spotlighted at the event. They include documentary prose, journalism, essays, fiction, research, films, video lectures, as well as a series of television programs “Siege Diary”, one of the episodes of which is dedicated to the evacuation.
Anyone can become a participant in the commemorative event. The meeting will be broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal in the “Live Broadcasts” section in accordance with the program of live events, as well as on the institution’s channel “Rutube”, on the social networks “VKontakte” and “Odnoklassniki”.

The letter should contain the full name, date and place of birth, passport data (series, number, place of registration), a list of carry-on equipment, contact phone numbers, the name of the media.
We draw the attention of the media representatives that it is necessary to forward applications for accreditation and arrive at the event in advance.
Entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.
