The exhibition of the Presidential Library is dedicated to it's 15th anniversary

24 May – 23 June 2024

From May 24, to June, 23, 2024, a tablet exhibition is available to visit on Senate Square 3, showcasing the activities of the Presidential Library. The exhibition is also displayed on the plasma screens of the library and is dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the institution, which will celebrate its birthday on May 27th.

Thanks to infographics and photographs, visitors can visualize how the Presidential Library has evolved over the past 15 years. They will learn about the formation of the electronic collection, what materials are included, and which thematic digital collections are available on the library portal in open access. Visitors will also find out where and how they can access the entire digital collection, which contains over a million documents and materials related to Russian history.

A particularly valuable resource in the library's electronic collection is the Collection of digitized archival documents, films, and photographic materials titled World War II in Archival Documents, which is being compiled jointly with the Federal Archives Agency at the behest of the head of state. This collection includes over 12,500 unique documents, many of which have recently been declassified.

The Presidential Library is establishing a wide network of remote access centers for its resources both within Russia and abroad, providing users with the opportunity to access rare handwritten, printed, and pictorial materials that may not be available on the library's portal due to copyright restrictions.

The exhibition introduces a variety of educational and awareness-raising projects that the Presidential Library has implemented. These include student works competitions, pedagogical projects such as "The Future of the Fatherland in the Hands of Teachers", the "Great Russia" project, "Presidential Library for Teachers: Teaching with Primary Sources", video lectures "Knowledge of Russia", an Olympiad for schoolchildren on topics such as Russian History, the Russian language, and Russian as a Foreign Language, and many others.

The Presidential Library has become the only library whose materials are presented in a single textbook for grades 10-11. These textbooks are now an integrated resource that combines the curriculum with archival and library materials, all available at the click of a button.

Together with the Gorchakov Lyceum of MGIMO, the Presidential Library, based on the Collection "World War II in Archival Documents", prepares 28 video tutorials by leading Russian teachers about the events of 1933-1945.

Part of the exhibition is devoted to the scientific activities of the Presidential Library, which produces scientific collections. Exhibition and publishing trends are also presented.

A separate tablet tells about international library cooperation. The Presidential Library pays great attention to the implementation of projects jointly with the institutions of science and culture of the CIS member states on the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, and the exchange of information resources.

In the photographs on display at the exhibition, events that take place annually at the Presidential Library are shown. Modern technical equipment in the halls, including a television complex, interactive conference system, and simultaneous translation system, allow for hosting events of the highest quality, such as meetings between top officials from different countries, international and all-Russia forums and conferences, as well as exhibitions and concerts.

To visit the exhibition one must pre-register by phone (812) 334-25-14 or send an email to excursion@prlib.ru.
