Presidential Library invites readers to attend screening of documenary "Personal Stories"
On December 17th, 2024 at 16:00, the documentary film Personal Stories will be screened. The film's director, Abbot Anthony, is the Rector of the Episcopal Parish of the Church of the Nativity in the village of Nadkopanye, in the Volkhov district of the Leningrad region, and the chairman of the Diocesan Department for Charity and Social Services.
The documentary tells the story of life in the parish in modern times, about the love of God, the parishioners, challenging teenagers, compassion, and support for the defenders of the country.
Abbot Anthony is known as Sergey Vasilyevich Kuznetsov. In 2000, Elder Nikolai Guryanov blessed Sergey Kuznetsov, a young artist at the time, for monastic and priestly service at one of the most beautiful locations on the banks of the Pasha River in the small village of Nadkopanye.
Today, tourists and pilgrims marvel at the bright and cozy Church of the Nativity of Christ, which was returned to believers in the late 1990s after being in a deplorable state, destroyed and without bell towers, in its late 1800s stone five-altar form. With the help of God, the temple has been restored and a community has grown around it. Over the past 24 years, the parish has transformed rural life.
The premiere of the film Personal Stories was held at the International Film Festival Under the Protection of the Theotokos of Tikhvin, which was held in October 2024 in Tikhvin with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives @pfci.grants and the Governor of the Leningrad Region.
