Presidential Library's video lecture tells about primitive period man's art
On December 26, 2024, at 11:00 Moscow time, the Presidential Library will host an event dedicated to the prehistoric period’s art as part of the Knowledge of Russia video lecture series.
Alexey Solodeynikov, a junior researcher at the Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Shulgan-Tash Cave, will speak about human art from the prehistoric (primitive) period and its significance in modern society.
The Shulgan-Tash Museum-Reserve, located in the Republic of Bashkortostan, was established specifically for the study and preservation of the Paleolithic rock paintings in the Shulgan-Tash cave. The exhibition, which covers four thousand square meters, displays archaeological artifacts from different periods of history, providing information about the Stone Age's most significant achievements on a chronological timeline.
In today's cultural landscape, prehistoric human art is not actually visible, despite the fact that "humanity's childhood" contains many images, artistic approaches, and questions whose answers may be relevant to scientists from various fields, modern artists, and art enthusiasts.
The event is available for everyone. The meeting will be broadcasted on the Presidential Library’s portal in Live Broadcasts section, as well as on the Rutube-channel of the Library, on the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.
