Presidential Library continues series of lectures on prehistoric art
On February 11th, 2025 at 11:00 Moscow time, the Presidential Library will host the second lecture in the series The Art of Prehistory and Its Role in Modern Society as part of the Knowledge of Russia video lecture.
Alexey Solodeynikov, a junior researcher at the Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Shulgan-Tash Cave," will speak about the geography of rock art. Participants will be invited to explore the paths that our ancestors traveled when choosing settlements and discover the evidence of their "artistic abilities" left behind on the rocks.
The Shulgan-Tash Museum-Reserve is located in the Republic of Bashkortostan and was established to study and preserve the Paleolithic rock carvings found in the Shulgan-Tash cave.
The first lecture on the art of primitive man was held at the Presidential Library on December 26, 2024. Video recordings of the event are available on the library's Rutube-channel and on social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.. One can also view the online project Centuries-old Yugra, dedicated to the exhibition of the same name that was shown in the halls of the Presidential Library, on the library's portal.
