
Legends of Soviet intelligence and counterintelligence – in Russian cinema and literature
On February 19, 2025, at 16:00 Moscow time, the Presidential Library will host a lecture on how the work of Soviet intelligence and counterintelligence in Russian cinema and literature is presented. Ilya Peterkin, Candidate of Historical and Legal Sciences, veteran of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, will talk about the legends of Soviet intelligence, which became the prototypes of the heroes of fiction, about the image of the Soviet intelligence officer in films and books.
The lecture is held as part of the video lecture Knowledge of Russia and continues the series of lectures on the history of the state security agencies of our country. The purpose of the cycle is to create a positive image of the Russian state and domestic intelligence services.
At lectures on the history of state security agencies, students are told about outstanding employees, the most striking, interesting and significant operations, events in the history of the Russian special services, and the main directions of their activities.
The event will take place at Senate Square, 3, Saint Petersburg.
