Presidential Library continues to talk about prehistoric art

On March 5th, 2025 at 14:00 Moscow time, the third lecture in the series The Art of Prehistory and Its Role in Modern Society will take place at the Presidential Library as part of the video lecture series Knowledge of Russia.

Alexey Solodeynikov, a junior researcher at the Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Shulgan-Tash Cave, will speak about the geography of rock art. The museum-reserve is located in the Republic of Bashkortostan and was created for the study and preservation of the Paleolithic rock carvings found in the Shulgan-Tash cave.

During the second lecture on the geography of prehistoric art, attendees will learn about the most significant regions where rock art developed. The focus will be on the ecological niches where the rock art of Northern Eurasia originated and flourished.

The event will take place at Saint-Petersburg, Senate Square, 3.
