Military drama "Following the call of the heart" to be shown at Presidential Library

31 March 2025

On March 31st, 2025 at 15:30 Moscow time, the Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation will host a screening of the military drama Following the Call of the Heart for foreign cadets of the Military Training and Scientific Center of the Navy "N. G. Admiral Kuznetsov Navy Academy".

The event will feature a talk by director Igor Ugolnikov, People's Artist of Russia, and Andrei Alexandrov, a teacher at the center for training foreign military personnel at the N. G. Naval Academy. They will discuss the Moscow militia and its significance.

The war drama tells the story of the heroic sacrifice of the Moscow militia - ordinary people who volunteered in 1941 to defend their city and country. They went to the front lines without any military training or experience, but with a strong sense of duty and a desire to protect their homeland. These brave men and women fought against the mightiest and most ruthless army of the time, holding back the enemy and protecting the heart of Russia.

Despite having no weapons or survival skills in the field, these ordinary citizens showed incredible courage and determination. Their faith in victory and their love for their country gave them the strength to persevere in the face of overwhelming odds. Their story is based on real-life accounts from the militia and front-line soldiers, making it a powerful and moving tribute to their sacrifice.

The war drama was produced by the studio Voenfilm, with the support of the Institute for the Development of the Internet. It stars Alexander Korshunov, Andrey Nekrasov, Vladislav Miller, Anna Bolshova, Svetlana Antonova, and many other talented actors.

The event is organised by the Presidential Library with the partner support of the Internet Development Institute (IDI).
