The Presidential Library to present a research film

15 March 2013, at 15.00, at the fifth meeting of the cinema club will be demonstrated a film of the Presidential Library, shot on the basis of materials of the exhibition of the State Museum of Political History of Russia, "Soviet Union. The last chapter." Film director is Tatiana Dyakonova, operator - Vladimir Yarosh.

Presidential Library will present a film-research analyzing the events of the second half of the 1980's - early 1990's. The film is based on materials of a documentary exhibition, held at the State Museum of Political History of Russia. The authors of the movie study the causes of the events of those years, analyze their impact on the development of post-Soviet states, the fate of millions of people.

The cinema club meeting will be attended by the authors of the exhibition, personnel of the State Museum of the Political History of Russia, teachers of the department of modern Russian history, History Faculty of St. Petersburg State University, scientists from the Russian Academy of Sciences, and students.

The film presented by the cinema club is a harbinger of another film of the Presidential Library, which is completed. It is called "From the Soviet Union - to the new Russia" and is dedicated to overcoming the "age of 1990s", reaching a new level of political development. The film was produced on the basis of the eponymous exhibition at the National Library of Russia marking the birthday anniversary of Vladimir Putin. Thus, the Presidential Library, in collaboration with colleagues from museums, libraries, archives, including through the production of its own audiovisual production, accumulates in its collections exhibition, historical materials and conducts their research, is engaged in analytical work.

In 2012, the first national digital library of Russia prepared 87 of its own audiovisual projects.
