The 75th anniversary of the Battle of Moscow within the Educational Conference at the Presidential Library

December 7, 2016 the Presidential Library in a video conferencing mode will participate in inter-regional educational conference "Cities of Military Glory", dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Moscow. The event will be held at the basis of the Moscow Regional Center of the Presidential Library and will be broadcast in real time at the Presidential Library website, the section "Live broadcasts". The beginning - at 10:00 Moscow time. 

The conference is timed to the anniversary of the beginning of the counter-offensive of the Red Army near Moscow on December 4, 1941. The event is planned to fully consider the range of military operations conducted by the central direction of the impact of Nazi troops in the Moscow area from 30 September 1941 to 20 April 1942.

Also at the conference will be provided a brief video overview of the Moscow operation, prepared by Moscow Regional Center of the Presidential Library.

In a video conferencing mode the event will be joined by Perm, Omsk and Tver. Their reports on the contribution of these regions to the defeat of enemy troops near Moscow will be delivered by leading researchers of the cultural and educational institutions.

Materials, related to the Battle of Moscow, as well as materials on other events of the Great Patriotic War, have a special place in the Presidential Library collection. Today the Presidential Library' collection "Memory of the Great Victory" presented digital copies of official documents, photographs and newsreels, newspapers of wartime, books, publications of advocacy character, evidence of combatants of the battles and home front workers, their personal documents, pictures, combat and labor awards, monuments and memorials. In total, the collection features more than 22 thousand electronic copies of documents and materials.  

Accreditation for media representatives planning to attend the event on the territory of the Presidential Library, - is till 12:00 am, November 6.

Please note that the entrance to the Presidential Library for the media representatives is through entrance № 2 strictly upon showing the passports.
