The Presidential Library will show a real football

On September 1, 2017, within the framework of the “Foreign View” VIII International Multimedia Competition the Presidential Library launches a special nomination “The Ball of Victory”. The nomination is timed to coincide with the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The nomination accepts photographs and videos of the renowned football commentators, players, matches highlights, the entire stadiums and much more on football theme. Photos and videos showing layperson’s and children's competitions, street football are very welcome.

To take part in the “Foreign View” photography competition participants need to submit pictures and videos taken during the preparation and conducting of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and/or the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, as well as any other football competitions, illustrating the development of infrastructures in the cities of Russia. Photographs of football fans would be of particular interest. Bizarre costumes, colors of the favorite team and weird make-up — all this every year attracts the millions of lenses of photo and video cameras.

According to the terms of the multimedia competition, anyone can participate in it simply by uploading his work to the website fitting in the designated nominations. The principal clause is that the competition accepts works created by Russians abroad or by foreigners in Russia.

This year, for the first time, footages of documentary chronicles, videos and filming from private archives are accepted for the competition. Special attention will be paid to footages of the legendary football events, which changed the history of sports forever. The slogan of this year’s “Foreign View” contest is “Ecology of Life,” because a theme of the beauty of the surrounding world and an upbringing of careful attitude to nature by the means of art is close to many. The organizers of the multimedia competition traditionally tried to cover the most relevant, resonance topics. The same name nomination “Ecology of Life” is dedicated to genre photographs demonstrating the influence of an individual on the environment, a part and a place of people in ecological balance and sustainability. In the “Protected Land” nomination are accepted the pictures of unique natural monuments, sanctuaries, reserves, and the national parks. The life of wild animals in their natural habitat will be in focus of the “Miracles of the Animal Life” nomination, and “Magic Macrocosm” will expose the secrets of nature through macrophotography.

Apart a desire to win the nomination, the other objective of each author in this project is also to become a part of the world community, which annually creates for the future generations a digital annals of the most dramatic events of our time. The best pictures of the participants will be included in photo album, which along with the best videos will add to the electronic stock of the Presidential Library. The submissions to the multimedia contest will become part of the exhibitions on various cultural event venues of the country.
