Shortly before of the Teacher's Day the Presidential Library is featuring “A world through the child’s eyes” exhibition

25 September – 6 October 2017

“A world through the child’s eyes” multimedia exhibition of the artworks of children from Down Center will run in the Presidential Library from September 25 to October 6, 2017. The exhibition presents more than 60 works of “sun kissed children” in various techniques: drawings, collages, and applications. Even a disease couldn’t take over the bright, sunny childhood world. The children create all the works independently, and most of the pieces are really original.

The Down Center St. Petersburg Nonprofit Organization of the disabled was established in 2003. It joins the families with the members with Down syndrome (DS or DNS). Currently there are near 300 families in the organization.

Down Center deals with medical, pedagogical, social and labor rehabilitation of the children, provides targeted assistance to needy families. The most important direction of the organization's work is psychological and informational (taking into account the best international experience) support of the families, which are raising children with Down syndrome. Group and individual developmental activities with children are also commonly practiced, and an exhibition opened in the Presidential Library is the one of the impressive results of that type of work.

It stands to mention that with the support of the Presidential Library and the assistance of the “Orthodox Initiative 2016—2017” International Open Grant Competition, where the Down Center became a laureate this year, the exposition of these works has taken place in the Grand Canyon shopping mole (Prospect Prosveshcheniya metro station) this summer.

The creators of works will once again visit the exhibition in the Presidential Library. Staff employees of the electronic book depository will tell young guests about the unique capabilities of the Presidential Library with its reach stock, which is numbering more than 550,000 entries.

“A world through the child’s eyes” exhibition will work up to October 6, 2017, inclusive. Please? Give us a call if you are planning to attend the exhibition (812) 334 2514 or email us at excursion@prlib.ru.
