In 2022 the Presidential Library was attended by about 8,500 visitors in more than 400 groups. The main audience is schoolchildren from St. Petersburg and other regions of Russia, students and cadets of secondary specialized and higher educational institutions, residents, as well as guests of St. Petersburg from various regions of Russia and abroad. In cooperation with city municipal organizations and social service institutions, the tours were held for visitors with disabilities, pensioners, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and residents of besieged Leningrad. The guests of honor and partners of the institution in various areas of activity learned about the Presidential Library in a tour form.

The tours around the historic Synod building are a traditional part of the program for most public events held annually at the Presidential Library. In addition to the tour service for their participants, the work was also carried out with individual visitors. Thanks to electronic registration on the library’s portal, the attendees have an opportunity to attend the tours due to the group formation. At the end of 2022 more than 1,000 individual tourists in more than 50 groups visited the Presidential Library.  

The Presidential Library deals with travel companies of the city including both partners proven over the years (Zolotaya Pora, Edem-tour, Larus Travel, Nevskaya Volna), and new partners (Expert tour).

Moreover, the tour group of the scientific and educational department prepared methodological developments for themed tours, including a process card and a control tour text. For freelance guides, practical workshops were held on holding the tours in the Exhibition halls of the library.

 

In 2021 more than 6,100 excursionists involving about 400 groups attended the Presidential Library. They are schoolchildren of St. Petersburg and other regions of Russia, students and cadets of secondary specialized and higher educational institutions, people with disabilities, pensioners, veterans, residents and guests of St. Petersburg from various regions of Russia and abroad. Excursions were held for event participants at the Presidential Library, for honorary guests and partners of the institution in various areas of activity.

The Presidential Library continued to deal with the city's travel companies, including the Zolotaya Pora, Nevskaya Volna, Arina, and Grinden SPb.

In 2021, the work continued with individual visitors wishing to visit the Presidential Library, regardless of any organizations and institutions. During the reporting period, more than 30 groups were organized using electronic registration and the traditional form of questionnaires.

In connection with the restrictions introduced due to the spread of coronavirus infection, virtual tours continued in the first quarter of 2021 - both an overview of the Presidential Library building and thematic exhibitions that were previously held in the exhibition halls of the institution. In total, over 50 virtual tours were held in the first quarter of 2021, after which the Presidential Library finally returned to holding face-to-face events.

According to the exhibition projects of the Presidential Library, methodological developments, including a technological map, as well as a control excursion text, were created. Practical workshops about excursion work in the exhibition halls of the library were held for freelance guides.

Traditionally, excursions to the Presidential Library have become part of the cultural program of events held annually at the Presidential Library - the Knowledge Forum, the Arctic Day, the Cosmonautics Day and the Cadet Day conferences, the Naval Knowledge Day, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and other public events organized with the participation of the Presidential Library (XVII All-Russian Congress of Commissioners for the Children’s Rights in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the conference "The Holy Synod in the history of Russian statehood", the scientific-practical conference "Law and Information", etc.).

 

Over 2,600 excursionists visited the Presidential Library in 2020.

They are schoolchildren of St. Petersburg and other regions of Russia, students and cadets of secondary specialized and higher educational institutions, people with disabilities, retirees, veterans, residents and guests of St. Petersburg from various regions of Russia and foreign countries. Excursions were provided for event participants of the Presidential Library, for honorary guests and partners of the institution in various areas of activity.

The Presidential Library continues cooperation with the city's travel companies, including both proven partners (Walks Through Petersburg (Progulki po Peterburgu), Three Oranges (Tri Apelsina), Edem-tour), and new partners (Vujazher).

2020 continued the work with individual visitors wishing to visit the Presidential Library regardless of any organizations and institutions. 18 groups (180 people) using electronic registration and the traditional form of questionnaires were organized during the reporting period.

8 excursions as part of a research workshop for students of the University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation were arranged within the first quarter of 2020.

Methodological regulations were created for exhibition projects of the Presidential Library, including technological map, as well as texts for the excursions. Practical seminars on excursion activity in the exhibition halls of the institution were held for freelance guides.

Traditionally, excursions to the Presidential Library have become part of the cultural program of events held annually at the Presidential Library - the Knowledge Forum, the Arctic Day and Cosmonautics Day conferences, the Naval Knowledge Day, the International Technology Forum, as well as other events organized with the participation of the President libraries (conference "Architecture of University Education: Building a Common Space of Knowledge", meeting of directors of national libraries, the XI Annual Integration Forum on the Preservation of the Cultural Heritage of Libraries, Archives and Museums).

In connection with the restrictions introduced due to the spread of coronavirus infection, the Presidential Library, following many other institutions, approved the experience of holding remote events. The specialists of the institution developed and organized excursions on virtual 3D tours of the Presidential Library - both overview tours around the library building and thematic on its exhibitions that were previously held in exhibition halls. More than 10 methodological regulations of excursions on virtual 3D tours were prepared. The target audience was students of educational institutions, most of the applications came from Tyumen Region. Excursions on virtual 3D tours of the Presidential Library have become a priority area for the excursion and methodological group of the scientific and educational department in the second half of 2020.

In 2019, the Presidential Library carried out its joint work with its partner “The All-Russian Society for the Protection of Monuments of History and Culture”. Thanks to this cooperation, the number of Open City project participants who visited the institution with excursions increased. Thus, the Presidential Library provided preservation of the historic interiors of the Synod building and revealed the features of large-scale reconstruction and restoration of the building.

Traditionally, excursions in the Presidential Library have become part of the cultural program of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum - the events, held annually in the Presidential Library - the Knowledge Forum, the Arctic Conference Day, the Cosmonautics Day Conference, as well as various large-scale and major events held in the walls of the Presidential Library in 2019 (Congress of Teachers of Indigenous Minorities of the North, International Municipal Forum of the BRICS Countries, etc.).

In 2019, the Presidential Library provided and held a research workshop for 11 groups of students of St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. A series of career guidance excursions took place for senior pupils. They  got the opportunity to learn about the professions necessary for the successful functioning of the national electronic library. Schoolchildren and teachers noted the importance of the information obtained during the tour to further determination of the profession.

In 2019, the cooperation with travel agencies of St. Petersburg, including new partners (Eden-Tour, BeHappyRussia, Antalya, Peter Guide), as well as individuals wishing to visit the Presidential Library regardless of any organizations and institutions, continued.

 

11,000 attendees, including pupils from schools of Russia, students and cadets of secondary special and higher educational institutions, people with disabilities, retirees, veterans, residents and guests of St. Petersburg from various regions of Russia and abroad visited the Presidential Library in 2018.

A virtual tour of the Synod building has been implemented and posted on the Internet portal based on the materials of the excursion, allowing anyone to remotely “visit” the Presidential Library.

An educative tour is regularly held for pupils and teachers of secondary schools, which makes it possible to focus on educational projects of the Presidential Library (multimedia lessons “Knowledge of Russia” video lectures“Russia in the Electronic World” Olympiad).

As part of the cooperation with travel companies the Presidential Library has been visited by groups of residents of St. Petersburg and guests from various regions of Russia and abroad.
