12 April 2018

By the Cosmonautics Day the Urania Museum of the Moscow Planetarium hosts an exhibition "Intercosmos".

Intercosmos is a Soviet space program that allowed cosmonauts and organizations of countries friendly to the USSR to participate in space research. Thanks to this program, cosmonauts who are not citizens of the USSR or the USA visited space for the first time. In addition to manned launches under the Intercosmos program, satellites were launched. In 1965, the Soviet government invited the governments of the socialist countries to unite their efforts in the field of exploration and development of outer space.
