Internet and History: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia provides access to a unique resource about the Revolution of 1917 via its portal
ELAR Corporation has digitized more than 700 thousand sheets of archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia attempting to build up an information resource focused on The Revolution of 1917. The system of search and application of archival documents of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 1917 and 1924 was developed within the framework of the project.
The online resource is based on the materials of two archives: the Archive of Foreign Policy of the Russian Empire and the Archive of the Foreign Policy of the Russian Federation, spanning the time between 1917 and 1924 (until the recognition of the USSR by the leading western states). Digitized collections feature files of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office of 1917, records of embassies in London, Paris and Rome, materials of the Hague conference of 1922, Brest-Litovsk Peace Conference of 1917−1918., the People’s Commissariat for Foreign Affairs of RSFSR, the office records of Georgy Chicherin, Lev Karakhan and Maxim Litvinov.
