Internet and Society: Virtual exhibition «Grand Ballet» marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of Marius Petipa unveiled on the website of Novgorod Regional Library

The year 2018 sees the 200th anniversary of the birth of the prominent choreographer Marius Petipa and is celebrated as the Year of Ballet in Russia. The Arts Literature Department of the Novgorod Regional Library is launching «Grand Ballet» virtual exhibition.

The publications on display have been chosen to present the history of the Russian ballet, which had an impact on the whole world and continued the traditions of the masters of past epochs, in the most comprehensive and absorbing way. The mysterious world of the ballet art keeps a great number of names and performances, which hide hundreds of exiting stories.

True works of the ballet historians, articles of ballet experts which are worthy of attention, biographies based on the memoirs and recollections of great ballerinas and ballet dancers, choreographers and ballet masters are worth reading in 2018.
