International events: Works of graduates of Ilya Glazunov Russian Academy of Painting go on display in Sunremo as part of “Russian Seasons”

The exhibition “Haec est civitas mea. It’s My World” – the display of works by graduates of the Ilya Glazunov Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture opened on August 1, 2018 at the Villa Ormond, Sanremo, Italy as part of the “Russian Seasons” cultural project.

The theme of the exhibition has been chosen not by accident. Traditionally Italy had been the place of pilgrimage of Russian artists. In 19th c. by the decision of the emperor best graduates of the Imperial Academy of Arts travelled to Italy to study the finest works of art from the Antiquity to the Modern history.

“Haec est civitas mea. It’s my World” — is a dedication to the history of Russia and the beauty of its nature. The collection also features the portraits of contemporaries. Previous exhibition in the very heart of Rome in the “Vittoriano” complex and in SATURA gallery in the historical center of Genoa was a great success.

The Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Italian Republic, the Center for Film Festivals and International Programs are the organizers of the exhibition project.

The exhibition will run until September 4, 2018.
