History and Culture: Exhibition “Alexander Suvorov and Orthodoxy” launched in the Alexander Suvorov Museum-Estate in Novgorod Region

The exhibition “Alexander Suvorov and Orthodoxy” opened on August 1, 2018 in the narthex of the Alexander Nevsky Church at the Alexander Suvorov Museum Estate, Konchanskoe village, the branch of the Novgorod Museum-Reserve.

A small exposition featuring 14 exhibits casts light on the spiritual aspirations of the great general. Visitors will have a chance to see religious books of 18th – early 19th cc., a small cross and a four-point officer cross “For the great courage”, photographs and the water-colour painting of V.V. Tambovtsev “The church in Sopiny village”, and the wooden sculpture of Saint Nil Stolbensky.

The exhibition will run until August 8.
