Society and Culture: Modern cultural center to appear in Sevastopol

A new cultural space, that is expected to appear in Sevastopol, will include the theatrical and educational complex and the museum complex. The design for the new center has been completed.

The opera and ballet theatre is expected to become its core. The choreography boarding school, to be opened there, will welcome 250 students. There will be an apartment complex for the cultural center’s staff next to it.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets notes, that the center will also feature the cinema and concert complex.

The art complex will house a permanent exhibition of masterpieces of fine arts from the collections of major museums of Russia, such as the Hermitage State Museum, the State Russian Museum and the Tretyakov Gallery.

The Museum of Defense of Sevastopol will also occupy one of the buildings. The construction works are scheduled for the beginning of the next year.
