9 August 2018

On August 9, 2018 the Tenishev Cultural and Exhibition Center (Smolensk) is launching a new exhibition “Justly honors all the Russia …”  from the collections of “Borodino Battlefield” Museum-Reserve. The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Russian Military and Historical Society.

The exposition showcases over 200 museum items, which portray the main stages of the Patriotic war, which began when the Great French Army commanded by Emperor Napoleon crossed the Neman river on June 12 (24), 1812 and drew near the end, when the Russian Army made the enemy’s troops retreat to Russia’s western borders and cross the Berezina.

The exhibition displays paintings, uniform and ammunition of the Russian and West-European armies of the first half of 19th century, book rarities, sculptures, models, archaeological finds from the battlefield — cannonballs, fragments of grenades, bullets, uniform buttons, horseshoes, which possess a memorial value as participants of the Battle of Borodino.
