International events: Exhibition “Masterpieces of Edo Paintings and Prints” to be launched in Moscow as part of the Cross-Cultural Year of Russia and Japan

Exhibition “Masterpieces of Edo Paintings and Prints”, which is opening on September 4 at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow), in 2018 will become the highlight of the Cross-Cultural Year of Russia and Japan.

The exposition will display more than 130 artworks of painters representing various traditional art schools. The Russian public will be able to discover the diverse spectrum of Japanese traditional art of the 17th-19th cc. Some of the works rarely leave Japan. The exposition of artworks from Japanese collections is complemented by exhibits from Russian museums: paintings from the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, paintings and prints from the State Museum of Oriental Art.
