History of Moscow: “Finds in my street” display unveils unique historical pieces discovered by archaeologists in streets of Moscow

16 August 2018

From August 16 to October 17, 2018 the Museum of Moscow is running the exhibition “Finds in my street”. Museum halls will again display unique historical items, which  have been discovered by archaeologists in the streets of Moscow since early 2018. “Mysteries of underground Moscow” – the display of archaeological finds in 2017 - won “City exhibitions” nomination at Moscow Urban Forum 2018 in July.

“Finds in my street” unites around one hundred artifacts, which illustrate different periods in the history of Moscow. Not long ago they were under the feet of passers-by in streets of Moscow. Visitors will see items of everyday life of Moscow residents from the Middle Ages to late 19th century. The opening of the exhibition, held under the auspices of the Department of Cultural Heritage of Moscow, is timed to coincide with the Day of Archaeologist, celebrated on August 15.
