History of Saint Petersburg: The Siege. Voices project to be presented in Anna Akhmatova Museum in St. Petersburg

The Siege. Voices project will be presented on September 5 at 6:30 p.m. in Anna Akhmatova Literary and Memorial Museum in the Fontanka (Fountain) House (St. Petersburg).

The Siege. Voices – is an open documentary video archive, that features first-hand accounts of residents of the besieged Leningrad. The project aims to record and preserve stories of Leningrad residents, who stayed in the city during the siege, worked or took part in the defence. The participants of the project were about 90 years old when interviews were recorded.

The Siege. Voices video archive was launched in 2012. Over 250 interviews have been already recorded, more than 60 are accessible on the website of the project. The video archive website is available in Russian, English and German. Many interviews feature subtitles.
