Education and Society: The oldest university, which prepares communications and telecommunications specialists, is celebrating 88th anniversary of its foundation

On October 13, 2018 the Bonch-Bruevich St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications is celebrating 88th anniversary of its foundation.

The University is a generally recognized leader of the Russian higher education, which prepares specialists for the communications and telecommunications industry. Since 1930, when Leningrad Institute of Communications Engineers was founded in Leningrad, and up to the present day, the status of the university has remained high. Among its graduates are world-renowned scientists, prominent public figures and politicians, heads of companies and enterprises in all corners of the world.

The diploma of the University of Telecommunications guarantees that a specialist can deal with complex professional tasks, and along with this shows the high level of culture and intelligence.

The Bonch-Bruevich St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications was founded along with the Scientific and Technical Library, which is currently one of the most important departments of the university. The library is the cultural center of the Bonch-Bruevich St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications, which holds meetings with university graduates, writers, and scientists, and arranges art and book exhibitions.

The Bonch-Bruevich St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications Scientific and Technical Library collections cover a variety of subjects. The Remote Electronic Reading Room of the Presidential Library was opened at the Bonch-Bruevich St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications Scientific and Technical Library in 2015. This event marked an important milestone in the establishment of cooperation between two libraries. Nowadays the reading room is very popular among students and post graduate students of the university, teachers, schoolchildren and guests of the Bonch-Bruevich St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications.
