Two exhibitions on loan from the Novgorod Museum-Reserve opened in the East Crimean Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve (Kerch) on October 10, 2018.
The travelling exhibition “From Birch Bark to Paper” presents unique exhibits from the collection of the Novgorod Museum – birch bark manuscripts, wax tablets and styluses, which shed light on the history of the writing system and literacy development in Novgorod. The second exhibition “V. A. Favorsky. Illustrations for Alexander Pushkin’s Works” showcases about 50 prints of the People’s Artist of the USSR Vladimir A. Favorsky (1886-1964) from the Novgorod Museum-Reserve collections. Exhibitions will be open until November 30.
